Late to this thread but anyway.

I just got the notification that Boost for Lemmy was available and immediately installed after kind of forgetting about Lemmy.

Boost is such a quality app that it makes me want to use Lemmy again, and I happily paid for the app as soon as I could. People have such a weird thing about mobile apps when you consider the size of the mobile game market.

Thankfully none of the games I’m interested in playing have MTX. Indie is where it’s at.

Still too expensive.

I’ve had Lemmy for months now but never felt like actually posting much because the clients were just not very good. I’ll be posting more now that I have Sync, although the prices for premium versions are frankly obscene.

Totally this for me and I’m someone who understands how bad Google is. I’ve been using the same Gmail account for twenty years. It’s such an integral part of my everyday life. I have hundreds of stars on maps, a meticulously organised and synced Drive, all my YouTube favourites and subscriptions, Photos that are all mostly geotagged, etc. Degoogling would just be such a major hassle, and all my stuff would never be as nicely integrated ever again.

Fair enough. I live in Japan and there’s a massive second hand market for mostly Japanese watches (most of which are Seikos lol). Nobody uses eBay here, it’s Mercari, and only knowledgeable people sell stuff. It’s still definitely cheap, but not ‘I have no idea what this is actually worth’ cheap.

Fair enough. I’m not at that stage yet, still trying to find communities to join haha.

I love watches but have a hard limit at about $200-300. I live in Japan and you can get extraordinarily good quality mechanical (i.e. “real”) watches that are made domestically for that price or even less from great brands like Seiko and Orient.

Anything beyond that is IMO just pretentious and tacky in the sense that you’re kind of just flaunting your wealth.

My point is that yeah watch fandom kind of really sucks, I unsubbed from r/Watches and never looked back.

I’m on Jerboa for the moment, it gets the job done, was more intuitive for me than Liftoff. With that said I will 100% be switching to Boost when it’s available.

Weed does not agree with me at all, it sends me into truly horrifying attacks of paranoia. It effects people differently so yeah it’s definitely not “completely harmless.”

Who thinks hostels are dangerous? lol I’ve stayed at hostels all over the world including places like La Paz and had a fucking awesome time every time. I could understand a single female not wanting to stay in a mixed dorm but other than that, they’re fine.
