1 year agoI agree with pretty much every single word you wrote and have gone through the same thought process, with the only exception being that I used RiF instead of Baconreader.

It might be a tiny bit rough around the edges here and there, but the QoL features more than makes up for those.
I already prefer it to reddit tbh.

From a personal point of view the more I use Lemmy the more I like it. There are a lot of QoL features I really think is better here. Like this built in reply window, for instance.
I’m extremely glad such an awesome alternative existed when we needed somewhere to go.
I also have to say this feels more like a true community than redddit as a whole ever did.
Ironically my karma is the only reason I didn’t straight up delete my account.
I know it’s just fictional internet points, but I had a long running dumb game with myself to see how fast I could hit certain amounts.
That, and I managed to create my account exactly one year before my son was born, so they shared cake days, kinda.
