Tailgating is also really dangerous, but in my country it gets shrugged off. There’s a $100 fine for tailgating, for what could knowingly cause a life-changing injury or just death.
Xinjiang cotton is needed for ammunition, and it’s clear the sanctions are purely for political-economical gain against China (since they don’t believe in the forced labour stuff), so it looks like they’re just cutting their nose off to spite their faces.

Students doing “proper” research don’t care about the outcome, they’re just doing it to publish something and have it to their name. They think it’s required to go on to the next stage for your doctoral, or they think it will command them a higher salary in the industry. That’s not how it should be. I’m going to propose an ambitious project and I’m 99% sure will be rejected, because institutions don’t have profs who can “guide” people for actually engaging work, even though the “guidance” that they give is utter trash because they literally couldn’t care less about the research themselves. Academia feels like a career path where you go to get snug and settle for a smaller salary than the industry but benefit by having job security through publishing pseudoscientific bs every few months.

You know what’s funny. Is that sh-hid king b-lsen, probable Al Qaida agent/US tool, an american that “converted” to islam and went to kill a man in the UAE, get off scott-free by paying a giant amount of blood money (despite his whole case hinging on the fact that he was too broke which made him go off the rails or smth) and suddenly getting a massively reduced sentence after some UK involvement, is now making tiktoks and becoming a “muslim” “internet personality” in the SEA, along the lines of that romanian pedo who also “converted”. Look up his name and idiots online are defending him saying he repented :)
