They were testing the shot by pointing it directly at the DP and Director so they could see what it looked like if he drew the gun. There was no reason Baldwin wasn’t using either of the two non-firing guns during the rehearsal other than wanting it to seem more real. Yes, the armorer was inexperienced, but who hired the armorer. Yes, the 1st AD called cold gun and supposedly handed it to Baldwin without checking it. But who chose to then point the gun at people while simulating a quick draw motion?

It was completely reckless and there was a pattern of dangerous behavior on Baldwin’s part, which coupled with his role as producer, and the fact that the production had numerous complaints about safety and corner cutting, doesn’t look good at all.

The situation was so bad, that the DPs entire camera department WALKED that day, and had previously complained about gun safety being an issue. They were replaced by non-union scabs. When leaving, a producer threatened to call security if they didn’t hurry up. Others on set previously complained because prop guns had already accidentally discharged TWICE before the shooting.

Additionally, rather than finding suitable nearby accommodations in Santa Fe, as they were initially promised, crew were forced to travel 50 miles away to Albuquerque every day. For anyone unaware, film set days are usually around 10-15 hours per day of physically and mentally demanding work.

Everything that transpired was because of a perfect storm created by the production department. It shows all the hallmarks of the systemic abuses that occur between above the line and below the line players, and in my opinion the production department is responsible and should be found criminally negligent at the very least.

Currently: Alec Baldwin has gotten to walk away from this mess, all charges dropped. Gutierrez is now the sole person still being charged and being blamed for drinking and smoking weed after her shift, as well as new testimony from an anonymous witness who claims a bag of cocaine was handed off after she was interviewed by police. I guess production has found their lamb.

It’s true, you get microtransactions for everything these days. I pay a fee (technically I don’t get a discount) because I told my cell phone provider to stop sending me spam multiple times a week. I’d rather pay the couple bucks per month extra then have to deal with that bullshit.

The picture always has the dark Twix broken and added to a longer piece to make it appear longer. Your main clue should’ve been that the packaging is the exact same fucking size. Your second clue should’ve been the break at the 1/3 mark of the dark twix.

It should be taxed on the corporate side. Taxing sugar on the consumer side becomes a poor tax, because poor people will still want sweets from time to time, making those treats now more and more expensive. Well off people will just accept the tax because it’s marginal to them, but when your chocolate bar that you treat yourself to once a week goes from 1.29 to 3.29, then it really fucks your day up.

What should be done is incentives to provide less sugar/glucose-fructose on the product side and encourage companies to make snacks and beverages that have less sugar content.

I loved Geocities. I personally had like five different pages on it, including one that acted like a virtual tour of a video game world I used to play where you would navigate through map screens and could “talk” to characters. My friends and I would also have a communal page, which worked like our own mini-reddit where we would post cool shit, and then webring to our individual sites. I also currently have an ad-free website, which I operate and create all the content for myself.

The last time I remember watching television must’ve been the early 2000s, and I remember watching a movie on TBS. They used to have commercial blocks every 20 minutes or so, which was a little annoying still, but at this point watching a movie was a commercial break every 5-8 minutes. It wasn’t enough to get through a single scene sometimes, which is like somebody snatching a book out of your hand to tell you about products for three minutes as you’re mid-chapter.

I started just buying DVDs instead and ended up with a great little library full of movies that I hand picked and all the special features that came with them. If the internet turns into what TV was like in those days, I’ll simply start blocking sites that run heavy with ads and only white-list websites that respect an ad-free ecosystem.

Absolutely untrue. People run websites and pay for their servers themselves. People inherently want to post stuff on the internet and many websites don’t have ads at all. Think of pretty much every old blog that used to exist, or every portfolio page for an artist. I will simply stop using Google’s internet and that will be that. I pretty much already have to be honest, Google results are absolute dog shit.

Yeah, but doing that won’t get them bonuses for hitting KPIs. They let the malware through because it means the company buying the adspace is buying adspace. Everything else doesn’t factor into their targets and quarterly goals.

Yeah, 100%. I would pretty much rather just use whatever underground internet pops up to replace the advertising based one. Advertisements are one of those things that I absolutely cannot stand.

Oh. I mean, I get it to some extent, but according to the article, it states it was filmed before QAnon was a thing. It seems to just be piggybacking on the classic conspiracy of rich people taking children away for their own nefarious deeds, which… wasn’t that the plot of Season 1 of True Detective? Also, wasn’t it kind of the plot of real life, with the revelations of Epstein’s whole operation?

I dunno man, I’ll have to watch the movie to decide, but it seems like people are applying QAnon shit to this movie, when I’m skeptical as to that being the director/writer’s intent. Especially since from what little I’ve read about the director, he doesn’t seem like a conspiracy nut at all. Reminds me a lot of when the Proud Boys started wearing Fred Perry and all of sudden it was deemed a ultra-right brand.

I mean, Barbie started out as anything but feminist, so maybe that’s why. Didn’t the Simpsons do a whole episode on how sexist the whole Barbie concept was back in the 90s? I honestly have no clue, I don’t know fucking anything about Barbie.

What makes it a QAnon film? It’s my first time hearing about it, but I enjoy a lot of those actors, and the synopsis doesn’t seem overly right wing or anything. Seems like a paint by numbers vigilante cop movie.

Man, I dunno about you, but as someone who vaped and smoked weed a couple years back, the vaping was way worse for me. I would get these weird phlegmy coughs that I never got from smoking. I think part of it is that vapes hits feel so weak, so I would end up just power dragging my hits, causing this effect. There were days where I swear my lungs actually felt like they hurt.

Stopped vaping and haven’t had this issue since. Anecdotal, but there you go.
