I would usually suggest Newpipe but that’s a little buggy rn so Libretube is probably your best bet, that even has sponsorblock aka it skips in video promotions from influencers too!

I guess Lemmy users probably also have high sympathies for digital piracy, opposing copyright is very wide spread within the open source community but there are a lot of factors at play here and I’m glad that’s the case because I only started to really use it on Lemmy! :)
So the VIP can’t even be banned by a mod? That’s a fucked up system and I can only woder why it worked at all for such a long time!
With enough machines (especially powerful gaming rigs) you could probably still make a really decent amount and since the malware is detected by common antivirus tools and even Windows Defender as far as I can tell it’s most likely old and just used again by someone but you always have to be careful with all claims in the cracking scene and considering how long that site has been reliable I definitely have my doubts!
Thanks! I don’t know why a VIP would have this kind of power but that’s exactly the kind of explanation I was looking for because (as usual) a lot of people claim all kind of shit whenever they get a chance and it can be hard to understand what actually happened, glad it’s not as bad as it seemed at first glance! :)
I am horrible with names and logos but I definitely approve of that suggestion!
I have seen multiple posts about the situation by now with various claims but no one seems to have actually looked into it so I have questions! Is it true that moderators defended the upload and silenced criticism, is it true that the crypto address in question can be linked to the sites admins and is it true that the same malware is all over the internet in countless releases? Not all of those are from this particular pist but if someone here knows the answers I would be happy to read them!
It’s definitely a real Tweet but I agree, if you visit the site to take a screenshit why not just copy that damn link!
Now you compare EMails aka mostly private communication to a public forum, that’s even dummer…
If ypu pirate through Tor your are a idiot and if you run a exit node on your own IP you won’t have access to jack shit very soon!
Tf? I just say that it’s probably mostly single user and small instances that will want something like that because they don’t have the moderation caipabilities and might trust the admins of a big instance, not sure what your sentence is supposed to mean tho so could you explain?
This tool is kind of for those single user instances tho and while something like this could hurt Lemmy that’s only the case if it’s used wrong, I doubt big instances will start to share block lists because they have the resources to gather them manually!
I generally agree but the comparison can’t be made that directly in my opinion because the small userbase of desktop Linux alone helps a lot there and the addition of repositories and Flathub do so too!
Unless you are in a cooperate environment or very careless with the stuff you download and commands you run you shouldn’t need one!
Joe Rogan left the chat
I have seen people claim that there are infected copies all over the internet, not sure if it’s true but please be careful and make sure to use something like Virustotal and Malwarebytes if you aren’t sure!
Damn, I can feel my brain melting!
I have seen someone claim that the Bitcoin address leads to the admins too, is that true or just made up bs? Ether way it doesn’t seem like they had any intention to get rid of that guy so I would be very careful next time you download something from there!
Lemmy assemble! We need a bot to inflate that shitcoin to death right away, it’s Reddit so that can’t be that hard to do but definitely very fun!
