    You can take that as literal you need to believe in him or that he needs to approve of you. The second is more likely when you look at Jesus’s life as a whole when he never shunned or hated anyone for not believing afaik.

    The second one he is talking to believers who used his name for “lawlessness” as he says. The whole verse should be read and not taken out of context

    “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

    The second verse you shared is yelling at many people who use his name in vain currently and I’m sure we can think of a few lol
