    Maybe I missed something but it doesn’t seem like that was the reason.

    Sources insist that Ortega’s departure has nothing to do with Barrera’s firing, which occurred after she made dozens of social media posts following the Israel-Hamas war. Sources say that Ortega’s representatives informed Spyglass prior to the actors strike that the actress, one of the biggest young Hollywood names to emerge in the past decade, would not be returning. Multiple sources say the actress either had no deal or, in the renegotiating of her option, asked what the movie company deemed was too much money.

      Interesting, I wonder why it didn’t come out sooner. I’m not putting it past the studios to be stingy, but it seems ridiculous that they didn’t want to pay her when she has the starring role and they would have to start over from scratch to write her out. Either way, I’m glad she’s not going through with it now.

      The timing raises questions. Besides, anonymous Hollywood “sources” are not known for their trustworthiness and reliability.
