    Idk if i should make a post about it but how do you guys deal with social anxiety in events (parties, gatherings, reunions, etc)?

      I’ve been dealing with anxiety since I was a child. Alcohol and drugs make it worse in the long run. What helped me was behavioral therapy and antidepressants. But that took years until I was finally mostly over my socialphobia.

      What I want to say is that it’s a long journey. But it does get better and it does feel great. I wish you all the best with your recovery and you don’t have to go through this alone. All your comrades will support you in your healing progress.

      For me at least, my tool is to use my breathing to center and ground me. Whenever I have an anxious moment, I just take a deep breath and focusing on breathing for a moment. It brings me back to the moment and centers me. I also try and remember how I feel whenever I choose to inhebriate to avoid dealing with my feelings and how crappy that makes me feel. Breathing really does work.
