Afternoon everyone,

I wanted to go over a few points related to pricing, stats and the roadmap

Pricing

  1. Sync for Lemmy is completely free with ads (the same as Sync for Reddit)

  2. You can remove ads in the account picker or drawer for a one time fee of ~$20

  3. Sync Ultra also removes ads but it’s not required

  4. I’ll be working on regional prices over the coming weeks

There are now 24k installed users up from 100 the previous day!

I’m going to be spending the next few days going through all of the comments / messages and fixing any crashes.

As always thanks for the support and hope you’re liking Sync!

Lj

FYI I’m in France, I clicked “do not consent”, and now I see blank squares instead of ads with the text “Sponsored content”.

I don’t recall clicking anything that says do not consent and I also see black squares. I like it actually, rather than seeing actual ads.

I’ve also only been seeing the words “sponsored content.” By the way, don’t know if this is a bug or not, but ads don’t show at all (not even the blank squares) when Compact or List mode is enabled.

I click ‘do not consent’, leave the dialogue page and open it up again and see that the consent for ‘Legitimate interest’ is ticked in, I.e not the way I left it. My worry, obviously, is that it doesn’t save the state with the choises I’ve made.

This is the state after I’ve selected ‘do not consent’:

That’s after you clicked revoke and reset it. When you click do not consent it’s saved, you can validate this by seeing lots of ads not even load.

Thats confusing but ok… so saved the state, only I cannot verify it since when i open the settings again it resets my choices. Not exactly great since the end user cannot verify their settings. Fine though, as long as it works.
