Just want to add a quick comment to say that lots of people have said very nice things about lemmy.zip in the giveaway thread. I can’t reply in there because then I’d enter the giveaway and obviously don’t want to do that (didn’t think through that eventuality did I!) So just wanted to say thank you to everyone for that. It’s very touching.
It doesn’t increase your chances of winning though so you can say mean things if you want 😉
Both a known issue a believe. There is (fixed?) issue on github for the automatic title here: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2516
Cross posts I’ve seen mentioned but no issue i can find for them. Might create one myself later on when I can test it.
Also appears to be an issue when creating a post with an image. If you select the textbox then deselect it, the image dissappears.
Congrats & happy birthday guys!

I would say there’s a good focus on fixes, with lots of features to help moderate and some QoL additions. There’s a full list of additions and changes here: https://lemmy.zip/post/16924449
I wouldn’t say for the end-user there is an immediate change to anything, however these changes all add up to a better experience overall.
I wrote this on mobile and obviously forgot entirely what day it is. I also originally put July too 🤦
It should say 8th - i.e. tomorrow morning UTC.
Thanks - I mean it makes no sense to me why that would suddenly let it start working, but glad it has! It should “just work” though, so I’ll keep having a play with it!
Edit: its fixed!
Nope, definitely something going on with it… I test for months with no issues then suddenly it all stops working, classic :)
Yeah give Tesseract a shot - I think its “old” photon the UI is forked from so hopefully that should go away. Let me know if any issues though :)
Still can’t really hold them liable unless they deliberately sold a weapon to someone who legally was prohibited from having a weapon.
That’s a very American point of view though - America isn’t holding those who create/sell tools that do bad things to account. If gun manufacturers were held responsible for how the things they created were used, you can bet anything suddenly they’d be hell of lot safer. Which is the exact same point about AI.
(Obviously not holding manufacturers/sellers to account is not an America-only issue, but this article is about AI and the USA so that’s the example I’m using.)
The bigger question is why did someone feel the need to kill others?
As a non-American, I think the general question is why on earth does the general public need semi-automatic weapons. Or really, any weapons.
Yes, this, not the school.
Well the American way is not to hold the company accountable, I.e. school shootings, so yeah.
I switched to an amd card not that long ago so I could use wayland.
Way too many issues, games being jittery, crashing, graphical effects with it to continue trying. I ended up switching back to x after a couple of days and then instead went for an amd card for the wayland benefits.
Considering the mass exodus of Dr’s abroad, who exactly do they expect to do this. The only way to achieve this is to improve conditions, pay, and invest in the training of new Dr’s.
Thank goodness for that, such a pain in games like overcooked
Thank you! And thanks for being here :)
Thank you!
I’ve looked in the DB and as far as i can tell, they triple posted. Each one has a unique AP_id which means that each of those comments was most likely created on the host instance (lemmy.ml) then sent to us an activity, rather than being federated incorrectly. Always happy to check other examples though, i know there has been an issue with lemmy.world duplicating all their activities for some reason (although thankfully it didnt mean we had 2 of everything!)
Have you got an example you can link me to?
No worries haha, took me a while to realise too :)
Thanks for the help making it better, its not until people start to use the bugs and such pop up.
Oh wow that’s amazing!
